This conference was held in Bozeman on November 9, 2007. Each of the speakers presented a different angle on how biofuels impact Montana farms and ranches. Powerpoint presentations for this conference are available by following the link below. Many of the presentations were recorded and DVDs will soon be available on request for a small charge. Email jschumacher@montana.edu for more information.
Below is the conference agenda, speaker biographies and speaker presentations:
Entrepreneurship Education for Successful Bio-Energy Production Project
This project provides information and economic education about financial and entrepreneurship issues surrounding small and medium scale biodiesel production in central and eastern Montana. To address these issues, the project staff from Fort Peck Community College and MSU (Bozeman) will provide workshops at locations throughout the WIRED region. The workshops will examine economic and financial issues related to oilseed production, oilseed processing, biodiesel production, government incentives, and regulations. The workshops are scheduled to begin in November (2007) and will be free of charge.
Workshop Agenda
Each four to six hour workshop will cover all of these topics:
- Oilseed Production
- Oilseed Processing
- Biodiesel Production
- Byproduct Concerns
- Government incentives and regulations
Many of the workshops will also allow time to highlight local bio-energy resources and activities.
